Smart Printers That Streamline Labeling Operations

The Intermec PX Series of industrial barcode printers is designed for high volume and compliance applications in demanding environments. They provide direct thermal and thermal transfer printing of all major 1D and 2D barcode labels, tickets, and tags. The PX Series is part of Intermec’s family of Smart Printers, which are capable of running computer programs and applications independently, without being connected to a PC — and eliminating PC purchase and maintenance can mean significant cost savings. PX printers can also communicate directly with other devices, such as scanners and scales, simplifying the printing infrastructure and increasing reliability and accuracy.

High Speed, Resolution, and Performance

Intermec PX Series industrial barcode printers are not only smart but also high-performance. The PX4i prints labels and tags up to 4.4 inches wide (for direct thermal) and 4.3 inches (for thermal transfer), while the PX6i prints at widths up to 6.59 inches. Both models feature interchangeable printheads to allow a choice of 203 or 300 dpi resolution, with the PX4i offering 406 dpi as well for even sharper labels. Top speed for the PX4i is up to 12 ips (10 ips at 406 dpi), and the PX6i can print up to 9 ips. Both the PX4i and the PX6i are also available in RFID-enabled versions that support ISO 18000-6B and 18000-6C / EPC Generation 2 to encode and print the latest RFID smart labels.
