Many warehouse operators are currently using BarTender label software to manage and design all of their labels within one system. However, Seagull Scientific has announced that it will release an upgraded version of their Bartender label software in 2019, which many are looking forward to.
Impending BarTender 2019 Release
As of now, no new features or functionalities have been released, but business owners are waiting with bated breath to see what is in store. This much-anticipated software is expected to be released in 2019, but no word yet on the official release date.

Changes Coming
With the release of the new BarTender label software, many changes are expected to occur.
Pricing and policy changes are anticipated, however the company has been pretty tight-lipped about what exactly will be changing. Warehouse operators and IT specialists can expect more information to be released regarding these changes in the near future, so be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming details.
The major change that will affect businesses the most, however, is the updated maintenance package. With BarTender 2016, businesses with a smaller license size had been able to opt out of the maintenance and service package that is normally added on with the purchase of BarTender label software. However, with the 2019 release, those that are interested in updating or upgrading their software will now be required to pay the maintenance costs for all licenses.
For those who are fans of the existing email service however, not to worry, this will remain free as long as a supported version is being used (version 10.0 or higher).
How to Soften the Blow
For businesses currently using the software, these new mandatory maintenance fees could present a barrier to purchasing, updating, or upgrading any BarTender labeling software, especially small businesses that have purchased the most affordable package and have previously been allowed to opt out of maintenance.
Luckily, BarTender has created a special limited-time offer to help ease the financial blow. Available through Imprint Enterprises through the end of 2019, this deal will provide:
- Amnesty on all back maintenance, except for the last 12 months obligation, along with a purchase of 12 months forward. This would equal a total purchase of 24 months.
- Amnesty on all back maintenance with purchase of 23 months going forward. This would be a total purchase of 36 months.
- A waived fee for BarTender 2019 release. As a side note: to qualify for this waived fee, businesses will require a special quote from Seagull, which they will honor until the end of March.
As of now, BarTender is still keeping quiet regarding the details of the new software release, but you can expect that it will be announced any day now. The new BarTender label software will likely contain an array of innovative and advanced features that will make it worth upgrading to.
